Rap Against Racism

In collaboration with Beyond Skin, United Against Racism and the HRC join Leo Miyagee and Smack Jay for a performance and fundraiser in response to this summer’s riots in Belfast.

This event is to raise awareness for the ongoing racism in NI and provide support to those affected by and fighting against racism locally and beyond.

Samuel Miyoba better known as Smack Jay Zambia was born in Southern Province, Choma District, Zambia. He completed his secondary education in 2012 at Choma secondary school and then decided to focus on music. He is an established artist who uses his music as a platform for social impact and advocacy. His songs are centered around spreading messages of positivity, hope and social change. He is not afraid to tackle controversial topics such as issues Poverty, inequality, children's / human rights, corruption and climate change. His unique sound blends traditional Zambian rhythms with modern hiphop beats, creating a style that is fresh and authentic.

Leo Miyagee, a 26-year-old rap  dynamo, is leaving an indelible mark on the UK and Irish Hip-Hop scenes with his versatile style, blending punchy lyricism with Jazz undertones. Hailing from the unique blend of Belfast and South London. He has a refreshingly distinctive sound and songwriting that, gives a Kendrick Lamar vibe. This standout artist has been carving out his own unique lane and is one to watch this year. Leo has garnered recognition from respected publications like Nialler, District, Belfast Telegraph, Vice, Irish Times, and iD Magazine. Multiple nominations at the NI Music Prize, including BBC Artist of the Year, Best Album, and Live Act, showcase Leo’s impact.  

£5 at the door. All proceeds go to families impacted by international conflict and racism locally.
