Assisted Dying: My Right to Decide

How should the right to an assisted death be introduced in Northern Ireland? Have your say.

Join Northern Ireland Humanists for a panel discussion drawing on international evidence, the Oireachtas commission a Lucid Talk poll of local opinion and personal experience.

The event will encourage discussion of the findings of the recent Lucid Talk Poll question on Assisted Dying sponsored by MyDeathMyDecisionNI as well as international evidence submitted to various parliamentary forums by Humanists UK. A panel of contributors from across the islands will address questions related to the practical outworking of Assisted Dying laws in other parts of the United Kingdom, criteria for availing of Assisted Dying in Northern Ireland, and how to effectively advance the conversation around Assisted Dying in the region, potentially including a call for a Citizen’s Assembly. Speakers will include former Human Rights Commissioner Brice Dickson, an expert on public discourse and a representative of the Oireachtas commission on Assisted Dying.
