The event will bring together members of the judiciary, legal profession, academics and others to explore policy and legislative developments in the context of domestic violence and abuse and other emerging trends in the digital age.
The event will begin with a session on the prevalence and impact of domestic violence and abuse on victims and survivors, spotlighting initiatives such as the Domestic Abuse Contest Court which is a pilot scheme operating in Belfast Magistrates Court. The second part will focus on exploring how technology intersects with human rights, and the rising threats in the digital space, including deepfakes, catfishing and cyber-stalking.
