Genocide as Colonial Erasure

Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur for the Occupied Palestinian Territories

Francesca Albanese will speak to the findings of her latest report, Genocide as Colonial Erasure in which she examines the unfolding horrors in the occupied Palestinian territory.

While the wholesale destruction of Gaza continues unabated, other parts of the land have not been spared. Exploring the violence that Israel has unleashed against the Palestinians post-7 October as part of a long-term intentional, systematic, State-organized forced displacement and replacement of the Palestinians, Francesca Albanese will address the risk of causing irreparable prejudice to the very existence of the Palestinian people in Palestine, and how and why must we insist on the genocide framing, if we are to prevent any further atrocities that will undoubtedly scar our human history.
