Summer of resistance: conversation with community activists

  • 2 Royal Avenue 2 Royal Avenue Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT1 1DA United Kingdom (map)

Join United Against Racism for an important and timely conversation with community activists and community representatives on the different kinds of resistance to racism we can offer and what needs to happen going forward to ensure Belfast remains a city for all.

The summer of 2024 saw unprecedented racist attacks on communities and individuals. Hate speech online and on the street spiked. This flood of hatred in Belfast was met with an outpouring of resistance, solidarity and community organising against division. Belfast had a summer of resistance! There is much to be learned from the strength of communities and much to be discussed about the future.
